The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New England Patriots 21–18 in an exciting NFL game. Bailey Zappe, a rookie quarterback, made history with this victory as he snapped the Patriots’ five-game losing run in addition to winning his first start.
Zappe ignited the Patriots’ aerial offense early in the game by tossing three touchdown passes in the first half, displaying extraordinary skill.
Even though the team had a great start, a combination of an interception and a blocked punt in the second half created a surprising turn of events that increased the tension in the last few minutes. Zappe is picked, defense improves
With a 37-yard connection from Zappe to Juju Smith-Schuster, the game got underway with a bang and one of the Patriots’ most memorable opening drives in recent memory. Ezekiel Elliott’s 11-yard touchdown reception and Zappe’s 11-yard scramble on a pivotal third down sealed the drive.
Unlike their typical sluggish starts, the Patriots got off to a 7-0 lead against the Steelers. A pass interference call on J.C. Jackson, however, negated his interception and kept the Steelers in play, preventing a possible lead extension. Nevertheless, the Patriots’ defense stood firm, forcing Chris Boswell to make a long field goal that narrowed the deficit to 7-3 with remarkable ease.

Jabrill Peppers intercepted quarterback Trevor Trubisky at a critical juncture in the first quarter, which provided the Patriots with a great opportunity to score. In a bid to rally the Steelers, Trubisky connected with Diontae Johnson on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Despite a fast 70-yard drive by the Steelers to close the deficit, the Patriots led 21-10 at the half.
